Anton Sanko is a music composer and producer born in New York City.

Sanko was most recently nominated for an Emmy Award for his work in the Lifetime Original Movie “Ring of Fire” in the category of Outstanding Music Composition For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special (Original Dramatic Score).  “Ring of Fire” starred Jewel as legendary country artist June Carter Cash and also received Emmy nominations for Allison Anders for directing and additional nominations for both makeup and hairstyling.

 

Sanko scored the horror/suspense feature film “The Possession” starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick from director Ole Bornedal which was released by Lionsgate on August 31, 2012. The film was produced by Sam Raimi as well as Robert Tapert and J.R. Young. Based on a true story, “The Possession” is the terrifying tale of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil. 

Sanko previously scored the critically acclaimed film “Rabbit Hole” starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart from director John Cameron Mitchell, which was released in December 2010.  The film, which was written by David Lindsay-Abaire and based on his acclaimed play, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2010.

Anton also scored the epic seven-part global programming television event “Great Migrations” for National Geographic which aired on the National Geographic Channel in November 2010. “Great Migrations” tells the powerful stories of many of the planet’s species and their movements, while revealing new scientific insights with breathtaking high-definition clarity and emotional impact.  Sanko was also composer of HBO/Playtone acclaimed series “Big Love” starring Bill Paxton.

Sanko’s prominent production credits include producing and writing with Suzanne Vega on Solitude Standing (seven Grammy nominations) and Days of Open Hand (one Grammy award), and producing and writing on Jim Carroll’s last album Pools of Mercury. He has also produced Lucy Kaplansky, Anna Domino and Skeleton Key.

 Sanko has scored over 25 films. Amongst them are “Saving Face,” “Party Girl” and “Scotland, Pa.” He works regularly with director Tom DiCillo, having scored “Delirious” and providing music for “When You’re Strange.”

Sanko is writing the original music for the upcoming Amazon Studios comedy series “Alpha House” which stars John Goodman and was written by Academy Award® nominee and Pulitzer-Prize winner Garry Trudeau and produced by Elliot Webb and Jonathan Alter.  “Alpha House” is a comedy about four misfit senators turned unlikely roommates who rent a house together in Washington, DC and also stars Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos.  Sanko also scored the horror thriller “Jessabelle” starring Sarah Snook and Mark Webber, scheduled to be released on January 10, 2014.

He currently resides in Los Angeles.
